In ‘New Testament’ times, when one was considered to be a follower of someone, usually a suffix was placed (as a common practice) after their name. [Example: 'ian'].
Therefore, the original meaning of a Christian was ‘a follower of Christ’.
Are Christians today a follower of Christ, or a follower of religious theologies about Christ?
